I professionally “grew up” in Menominee, so to speak. When I arrived nearly 6 years ago, I was a little fish in the pond. I followed my heart and used my intuition to start a yoga studio, train teachers, teach students, and observe some amazing growth both in the business and in my students and teachers. Witnessing growth, and knowing I have been a part of that, is awe-inspiring.
I’ve been offered a studio manager position in Portland, Oregon and I am so excited about this next step in my professional journey. I am also looking forward to witnessing the growth of this amazing organization I am joining (more about that soon!) and of being a huge part of that growth.
Change – even those that we are instigating and feel positive about – is not a walk in the park. I have shed tears as I think about leaving students and friends and the Midwest. These next three weeks are full of moving preparation (I am selling most of my household belongings), studying and taking the GRE (yes, I still intend on beginning grad school in the next 1-2 years), and finding a place to lay my head in Portland, Oregon. Later in November I’ll be driving my Fiat and my most loved possessions to the west coast. I hope you will follow my journey, keep in touch, and visit me at my new yoga studio in Portland!
