When life feels stuck, create movement

I’m so scared – people keep telling me this is the time for me to do whatever I want. Well, who wants to be a 30-, 40-, 50-, 60-, 70-, 80-, 90-, 100-year old person trying something new?

I’m not sure where to go: do I leave everything behind and move? do I risk my future happiness and stay? I’m so confused! And scared!

I want to change my career, but I’m frozen and don’t know how to move forward! I’m neither in my current career nor am I starting my new journey.

Perhaps a few of these statements ring true to you. I know they do for me.

When we are stuck or “paralyzed,” our limbic cortext (aka. Lizard Brain) is at the controls. It’s our fight, flight, freeze response. And when our Lizard Brain is at the controls we don’t see or feel life as full of opportunity, possibility, creativity, freedom, joy, peace.

Instead we feel stuck, paralyzed, scared. We lack joy, peace, creativity. We literally cannot see opportunity if it popped up in front of us.

How can we begin to experience life as opportunity, playful, fun, enjoyable? How do we move forward even when we don’t know how?

The answer is inside you. It always is. Remember this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson: “The ancestor of every action is a thought.

To create a life that is full of freedom and joy and inner guidance, you will use both your vision and strategic planning. One without the other is useless. Vision is the act of dreaming, imagination, seeing the future, non-tangible, forward feeling; strategy is planning, action, making goals, taking steps, forward movement.
